Don’t Accept Things the Way They Come

Don’t Accept Things the Way They Come

At first glance, this hinged floor lamp kind of turned me off on the floor at Home Goods. It was grouped with several very modern lamps and had a CFL bulb in it glaring at me. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love using the energy saving light in most of the rooms in my home, but the thought of sitting next to a bright, lit up pig tail does not seem inviting. Looking at the price tag, I knew I could not pass this lamp up as it fit all the requirements I was looking for, minus the bulb. A quick trip to The Home Depot scored me a filament Edison bulb. It cast a soft, warm light that is more pleasing to look at in this exposed bulb application. So, moral of the story, never accept things the way they come from the store. Put your own twist on it and make it work for you.
