A Sofa to Lounge on

hurry up and wait logo sofa edition

My husband and I recently made the decision to purchase a sofa for our living room after saving up.  If you read my “Hurry Up & Wait Challenge” post, you know we had been using a hand-me-down floral sofa that was far from our ideal style.  The wait was finally over for the sofa!  It had taken quite some time to save up the money for this large seating item, so I wanted to make a smart selection.

First, I had a list of criteria that needed to be fulfilled: size, fabric, number of cushions, style, leg finish, and price.  With a plethora of designer vendors and retailers at my disposal, I began my search.  After narrowing down the list, I found that my best option was to go custom.  I was able to specify just the right size to fit my space and chose from literally thousands of fabrics at one of my designer showrooms.  One other big factor was that it was made locally.

Here is the concept spec sheet for the sofa that is part of my “DIY with Your Handheld” design package I created for my own living room.

I selected a gray textural fabric to go over this sleek three loose pillow back sofa.  Having three cushions was important to me to be able to seat three comfortably.  I love the curved arms and simple tapered legs that I chose to be stained in an English walnut finish.

It’s long enough for my husband to stretch out on!

As I progress with my living room design as part of this “Hurry Up & Wait Challenge” I will be showing this checklist to show where I am at.  I love having these pages on my IPhone so when I am out and about I can reference them.

If you are interested in having a custom sofa made too, please contact me so we can discuss what you are looking for.
