Industrial Lighting Lamp & A Bit of a Repeat

January 15, 2014

This may be a bit of a repeat due to the fact that I featured my floor lamp in a previous post here discussing changing out bulbs.  Regardless, this lighting element is part of my Hurry Up & Wait Challenge for my living room.  Being in a rental, my living room has no built in lighting, so beefing up on portable fixtures has become essential.  Let’s face it, lamps can be expensive, especially those that are attractive and of good quality.

As part of my design plan, I was on the lookout for an arc style floor lamp with an industrial feel.  I wanted the bulb to be exposed because the lamp was to be used as task lighting.  Here is my design concept sheet for the floor lamp.

This lamp that I found at Home Goods has a similar feel that my inspiration pieces have, but at a fraction of the cost.  I love the two hinges and the antique bronze finish.  It came with a fluorescent bulb, but I exchanged it for a filament one to complete the look.
