Anthropologie Inspired Wood Slice Mirror

Anthropologie Inspired Wood Slice Mirror

On a weekend visit to Michaels, I saw a display of birch slices that made me immediately turn and investigate.  This instinct was just like it was when I was a little girl collecting rocks and twigs on family camping trips.  I snatched up several and one of the larger birch rounds got reserved for a look inspired by Anthropologie’s Mango Wood Slice Mirror.  I already had most of the other supplies in my crafting stock, so I went to work creating this unique piece.

Here are the supplies I used:

Birch Round

Light Brown Leather Cording

Carpet Tacks

5” Craft Mirror

Mirror Adhesive

Anthropologie Inspired Wood Slice Mirror DIY Steps

Step 1: Measure out the leather cording according to how long you want your mirror to hang and cut to your preference.

Step 2: Nail in three carpet tacks on each side attaching the leather to the wood slice.

Step 3: Put a bead of mirror adhesive on the back of the craft mirror and press in onto the center of the wood slice.

Step 4: Place a heavy object on top of the mirror for 48 hours.

Step 5: Hang and enjoy!

Here is the original version and mine side by side.
